March 11: Paul Becker Prayer Update

Here is a message from Paul Becker. Would you please join us in praying for Paul?

Dear Friends, greetings and thank you so much for praying for me!

Another crucial element of recovering from cancer is exercise.

For many years, I have held myself to a standard of walking 200 days a year for at least 2 miles a day.  Those days have been over for awhile.

Yesterday, my daughter Jessica took me to one of my favorite parks that has flat pavement.  With my walker, I did 5 small circles.   Today, I did 7 small circles.  Hurray!  Improvement!

I certainly don’t WANT to exercise right now.  But I absolutely MUST to get better!

If you are in any kind of a personal battle, one of the best things you can do is exercise. This may mean a good regular walk every day.

Update

I am better, stronger and accomplishing more of my work.  Today, I met with two of our top DCPI leaders.

I have had a catheter placed in my body.  Every few days fluid is drained from my pleura around my lungs at home so that I don’t have to go to the hospital to have this done.  Really helps!

On Monday, I have a big day.  I am meeting with our World Zone Leader, Ramon Mendoza and his family, for a time of prayer.  Then, I drive to San Diego to meet with my lung oncologist, Dr. Kate Gold, for her insights.  I will do blood work, and take my second chemo infusion treatment.  This is all about an 8 hour commitment!  That is much longer than my recent previous days!

Prayer Requests

Please pray with me that God will…

  1. Protect and care for my wife, Cathy, and family and the DCPI Team worldwide.
  2. Completely heal Paul in the land of the living as soon as possible.
  3. Give me strength for Monday and eliminate or greatly minimize the side effects of the chemo/immunology treatments and use them to effectively kill the lung cancer.
  4. Heal the liver cancer completely.
  5. Amaze our doctors when Jesus completely removes all the lung cancer from my body and help them come to Christ!

Thank you so much for your prayers!

Blessings!
