Karen assists the Ministry Advancement team with communication and care for DCPI’s partners. She also oversees the data collection for tracking progress towards enterprise goals and the fulfillment of the Five Million Church Vision to win the world to Christ.
How did God call you to DCPI?
“I followed my husband, Jay, as we came back to the USA.
I felt God wanted me to use my business background again but had no idea where that would take me. I was open to many options, yet I had no idea I’d be joining Jay at DCPI. A few months after being asked to work for them, I said ‘Yes’ and was welcomed on board.
This organization is doing amazing work around the world and I’m glad to be a part of the team! â€
What is your personal vision statement or life scripture?
Life Scripture:Â Psalm 103:1-5
Praise the Lord, oh my soul; all my inmost being praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, on my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Who forgives your sins, heals your diseases, redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with love and compassion,
Who satisfies your desires with good things so your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
What excites you about what God is doing around the world?
“Equipping so many church planters to plant reproducing churches!  Many people around the world are longing for the peace, hope and love only Jesus can bring and it comes through the church and its people.”
What miracles have you seen God perform?
“First of all, God set me free from alcohol abuse in a moment. Since then, I’ve seen him heal people of physical illness and give freedom from emotional turmoil. He truly cares for us spiritually, mentally and physically!â€
Most influential books or movies:
“”Inside Out”†by Larry Crabb impacted me greatly when I was a young follower of Jesus. It helped me to accept struggles and challenges as a normal part of life on this side of heaven.
‘Can You Hear Me?  Tuning into the God who Speaks’ by Brad Jersak.  As prayer and intercession became a bigger part of my Christian walk when we lived overseas, I was introduced to this book. Wow- it gave such a good biblical foundation to prayer and helped me, and friends, to practice listening to God’s voice.  I wholeheartedly believe God is communicating His love to us in more ways than we realize!
‘How to Live With Them… Since You Can’t Live Without Them’ by Becky and Roger Tirabassi.  This book on marriage really helped me to navigate more of the ins and outs of working through marital challenges all married couples have. Their vulnerability and wisdom resonated with me.   I’m committed to marriage and need all the help I can get to be a godly wife!
I’ve also been greatly encouraged by many of Karen Kingsbury’s books that bring life and hope to everyday people in our day and age.”
