What is the DCPI Pitch Deck?
At DCPI Central, in the United States, we have been working at organizing DCPI training into an entire system, so that our partners who use our training within their movements can be even more effective.
In order to communicate the benefits of the New DCPI System, we have put together a "Pitch Deck"--a presentation that you can print or use digitally to explain how DCPI works and how we can help church planting movements accelerate.
Check out this video that walks you through the entire Pitch Deck, so you can start using it in partner conversations today! 👊
Here are some things you'll love about the pitch deck! 👇
1. Clear description of a DCPI church
In the Pitch Deck, you'll find slides that explain the definition of a church. At DCPI, it's not enough just to plant churches, we want to be training leaders to plant HEALTHY, REPRODUCTIVE, and DYNAMIC churches. This means, we teach our church planters to be ever-innovating to reach their communities with the Good News about Jesus. If something is "dynamic," it can never die. It ever-evolves to stay relevant and life-changing for its community.
2. Clear picture of DCPI's training tracks
DCPI offers 8 training tracks. Up until this point, we have always offered our training tracks as individual options. Many people attended more than one training track, but our presentation of them was more of a menu--where people could choose one that they wanted to take. Now, the training tracks fit within the entire DCPI system, so leaders can see how each training track applies to them within their context and their church planting movement. That means, the training tracks' objectives are clearer.
3. Clear picture of our relationship with CPMs
Our primary focus, in using this Pitch Deck, is on church planting movement leaders. Church planting movements will each receive a customizable church planting training plan that's relevant to their context and leadership structure. In the flywheel graphic, the movement leader and trainers are all at the center of the circle. Our goal is to place ourselves beside our movement leaders, helping them to keep their training system going, so they can continue to accelerate the number of church plants in their movement. This calls for a longer-term relationship with our movement leaders, and it calls for us to engage them deeper in the ongoing work of getting their leaders trained. We are like a coach cheering them on, as they build their movement.
4. It's a new way of communicating
You'll notice in the Pitch Deck, that most of the language is "you-focused." That means that we are doing less talking about how great we are at DCPI and more about how we want to help our partners dream bigger. We've included actual images of our trainings. We've included a lot more color. We've included a lot more talking about the other person, and our goal is to adhere to the concept of StoryBranding by Donald Miller. We want to talk to them as the hero of their story, and we are the compassionate coach who comes alongside them to help them get to their goals. This way of communicating is more in-line with who we are at DCPI, anyway. We are a group of individuals around the world who want to see their visions come true in Jesus' name!
5. Regular updates to the Pitch Deck
We are releasing the Pitch Deck for the first time in fall 2023. Our primary objective in Q4 is to receive feedback about the Pitch Deck and the DCPI system, so we can make it as helpful as possible for our leaders around the world. As we receive this feedback, we plan on releasing regular updates, so be sure to check back here and on our resources page for the most updated version.

TRUTH #1: God sends you, and God provides for You.
As stated in I Thessalonians 5:24, “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” God sends individuals into the world with a purpose—to effect significant change (Matthew 9:37-38, Romans 10:14-15). His mission involves bringing hope and redemption to a broken world (Matthew 9:36; Romans 3:23, 6:23, Matthew 11:28-30, John 3:19b, John 11:25-26). When God calls you to go on a mission, He ensures your needs are met because His resources are boundless (Psalm 50:10-12) and His provision is abundant (Ephesians 3:20). Providing for your necessities, especially financial ones, is an inherent part of God’s character (Philippians 4:19, Genesis 22:14) and is particularly evident when you are serving on His mission.
MYTH #1: Support-raising is like asking for handouts and begging for money.
Think of it this way: when you see a billboard encouraging you to buy a Big Mac, you don’t consider it begging for money. Similarly, when inviting God’s people to invest in something as extraordinary as spreading the Gospel, it’s not begging but an opportunity to be part of the greatest cause ever known. If some choose not to contribute, there will always be others eager to seize that chance. In fact, you are inviting them to step into a great faith adventure of participating in the Great Commission and trusting God to provide. Their faith will grow, and this will be good for them and for you!
TRUTH #2: God provides for His ambassadors through His people.
2 Corinthians 5:20 emphasizes that “we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, ‘Be reconciled to God.'” When you embark on a mission, you represent not just yourself but God, His Gospel, and all of His people to those you encounter.
It is crucial to understand that God’s people are genuinely eager to invest in Missions. Many individuals work diligently for 40-60 hours per week, allocating a significant portion of their earnings to support their families. However, they also possess a deep desire to impact the world positively. Consequently, they actively seek ways to support God’s work in various capacities. In fact, God commands His people to contribute to His mission, whether it be supporting the church, ministers, or missionaries, all of which help spread the Gospel and aid those in need. God delights in working through His people to provide for His noble causes.
MYTH #2: I won't get paid while I raise support.
We're happy to say that this simply isn't true. At DCPI, from the time you have money in your support account, you will be able to draw a paycheck. We expect all of our missionaries to reach 100% support before they step into their official DCPI job. This means that the entirety of your job, for the first few months, will be raising support. You will get paid during this time. And, after you have reached 100%, you will continue getting paid. We will even give you 10% of your time to maintain your supporter relationships.
TRUTH #3: I can do this in 100 days.
We encourage all of our DCPI missionaries to take a prayer retreat, attend support-raising bootcamp, read The God Ask, and lay out a plan to meet with and raise 100% of their support in 100 days. Even missionaries who have had very high support targets, based on their housing and insurance expenses, have been able to raise 100% of their support in 2-3 months. Our goal is to walk you through the process from start to finish, so that you can confidently trust God and walk through your support-raising season with faith and victory!
MYTH #3: God doesn’t know who will support me.
Although it might sound absurd, the reality is that God already has a team of prayer and financial supporters lined up for you, even months before you embark on your journey. Your role is to pray and seek out those individuals, and you will undoubtedly be amazed at how God provides when you find them. We believe a more accurate way to understand support-raising is actually supporter-raising or "friend-raising," because this is more about the relationships than the money.
TRUTH #4: My paycheck will cover my expenses.
At DCPI, we take into consideration your needs for insurance, housing, travel expenses, ministry expenses, and even support-raising expenses, and we calculate your support target based on all these factors. This means that the amount you raise for your support will be different from nearly everyone else's, and it is designed to ensure that you will have what you need to stay in ministry for the long-run. Our goal is to set you up to be able to continue working and living in a healthy environment, as you would in any other career. So, when you consider raising support, know that you will not be leaving your family destitute. You will be making a reasonable paycheck, including the expenses you need to continue doing this ministry.
MYTH #4: Support-raising works great for short-term trips, but I could never do this for my salary.
While it’s true that support-raising is very effective for short-term missions, there are many missionaries who choose support-raised careers on purpose. The spiritual and relational benefits of having men and women on your team, praying for you, encouraging you, and fully-committed to your ministry are immeasurable. And, if you ask most support-raised missionaries, they will tell you that, though they don't know how, they have never been without. God supplies all your needs, and a support-raised missionary salary doesn't mean you will go without provision.
The DCPI team is full of people like you who sought the Lord, heard Him lead, took a huge step of faith, and watched God provide for them every step of the way. This can be your story, too.
