Fireside Chat – November #2

Greetings in the name of our Beloved Lord Jesus! 

I have always loved hearing the amazing stories of God using DCPI leaders to redeem this lost world. 

Today, I’d like to share with you the story of a DCPI leader on the frontlines in the Philippines. Pastor Bureros lives in the province of Cagayan, planting churches among the Agta people. 

In the 1990s, there was a thriving church among the Agta, but over time the church shut down. For six years, the church sat silent, while the village around it became saturated with worldliness, turmoil, drunkenness, and fighting. Even the houses began to crumble. 

Pastor Bureros and his wife visited this village, and their hearts broke. When he asked the local leaders if he could start a church their surprising answer was, “We have lost our way without God in our lives and in our village, please come again and teach us the word of God.” 

After just one month of weekly church services, the chieftain remarked, “Since you began teaching us again the Word of God there is peace in our village. Those who drink have not been causing trouble, and at night it is silent again.”

Then, in 2019, the chieftain said, “It is not right that we should be the only ones to benefit here from what God is doing.” So, they began planting churches in other nearby villages. This chieftain resigned to become a full-time church planter.  So far, they have planted seven churches!

Leaders like Pastor Bureros are on the frontlines, seeing firsthand how God is fighting back darkness and calling people out of death to life! Throughout our world, the frontlines are filled with humble men and women, trained and equipped, passionately charging forward to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to people who desperately need Him.
