Greetings in the name of our Beloved Lord Jesus!
As a result of the pandemic, we have seen young leaders stepping up to lead the Church around the world. We call these young leaders “NexGen” at DCPI, and we actually have a NexGen Challenge training just for them.
A couple of young leaders who went through our NexGen training saw God lead them into amazing ministry opportunities during the pandemic. Their names are Edwin and Rachel. Last week Paul sent out a part of their story through an email. They were leaders at their church in Camarines Norte, Philippines.
Before COVID, Edwin’s church was growing and reproducing! They had just begun planting churches in every district of their city. But COVID stopped them in their tracks.
Because they live in a city without high-speed internet, Edwin and Rachel got creative. They could only send text-only messages.
No pictures. No videos. Hardly any voice-calling. Definitely no zoom!
Pastor Edwin and his wife Rachel prayed together and decided to have their church read a chapter of the Bible each day, then send a text message with their key-take-aways to each other.
As lockdown continued, and access to the Internet improved throughout the year, this “Bible Challenge” turned into a Facebook group called “Daily Bible Together,” and that turned into a streaming show called “NexGen TV” and it airs every day. Not only does it reach church members, it also reaches people around the world! They have gotten 10,000 engagements so far from the show!
Taking it further, they began online outreaches, and collaborating with influencers to train them to share the love of Christ.
God is not limited by pandemics or Internet access! He can accomplish His will anywhere at any time! Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
I’d add that a pandemic can’t overcome it either!
