How did God call you to DCPI?

In late 2024, after nearly nine years serving as overseas workers in South Asia, our family of six, because of health concerns, transitioned back to the US. During our time there we had been passionate about training and practicing all cycles of the church planting process. That passion had not left, and as I looked for employment in the US, I ran into my longtime friend Bill Cosgrove, one of the directors at DCPI. He told me about DCPI and invited me to join. As soon as I looked into it, I was so excited to continue using my experience in a new role….. Impacting the nations with the Gospel through church planting. As my wife and I prayed through this option it became more and more clear that this is where God was calling me.

What is your personal vision statement or life scripture?

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Philippians 4:6-7 and 11-13 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus….

11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

These verses have always challenged me to trust Jesus no matter what, to always take things to Him, then wait for His peace. Lastly, I am still in the school of Christian contentment with Paul. Many days I feel like I am learning and others I fail miserably. But by God’s grace I am learning to lament, to trust, and to praise as I pursue the unseen, looking forward to the hope of Heaven.

What excites you about what God is doing around the world?

His mission is going forth and at times it looks messy but God is working miraculously to bring about His glory and the reaching of the nations. Organizations are strategizing and collaborating together to get a clearer picture of the task at hand, utilizing new tools, creativity and technology to take the Gospel to the unengaged and unreached. His church is growing in areas we never imagined possible, in the unlikely and difficult places. His church is rapidly expanding towards the end when peoples from every nation, tribe and language, will be singing before the Lamb. The diversity of this Heavenly worship increases daily, how beautiful will be its sound.

What miracles have you seen God perform?

I have witnessed firsthand the advance of the church into the darkest corners of the Earth, seen people that have never heard of Jesus, believe and be baptized, I have seen demons flee, sick people healed….. The gates of Hell crumble under the power of the Gospel and His Church. I have seen believers grow in their understanding of the Bible, transparent accountability, spiritual disciplines, living without fear, forgiving enemies, boldly partnering with God in the building of His Body.
